Terms of use

By accessing FAB or adding a contribution, you agree to the rules below.

1. Purpose of the service

FAB is a playful community counter. Added volumes are symbolic declarations: the service does not sell, deliver or distribute alcohol, is not a gambling service and awards no prize or financial value.

2. Audience and responsible drinking

The service is intended only for people who have reached the legal drinking age in their country. In France, it is intended for adults aged 18 or over.

FAB must never be interpreted as encouragement to drink. Alcohol abuse is dangerous to your health. Please drink responsibly. Do not drink during pregnancy or before driving.

3. Accounts and contributions

  • Use only your own account and submit genuine contributions.
  • Do not automate additions, bypass limits, manipulate rankings or disrupt the service.
  • Respect the displayed caps and anti-abuse protections.
  • Cancel any entry made by mistake from “My contributions”.

4. Public display

When you contribute, your account display name, amount, date and related statistics may appear publicly in the activity feed and ranking. Your email address and account identifier are never displayed.

5. Moderation and integrity

The publisher may correct, hide or remove data that is clearly fraudulent, unlawful, abusive or harmful to the security and fairness of the counter. Contributions rejected by the protections are not recorded.

6. Availability and responsibility

The service is free and provided without any guarantee of permanent availability. It may change, be suspended or suffer data loss because of maintenance, an incident or a legal obligation.

Each person remains solely responsible for their real-world alcohol consumption, their account and their use of the service.

7. Intellectual property

FAB’s original visual identity, copy, presentation and code remain protected by applicable rights. Third-party names and services remain the property of their respective owners.

8. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by French law without depriving users of mandatory protections in their country. An amicable solution will be sought before legal action. The terms may be updated; the date shown at the top identifies the applicable version.

Privacy

FAB limits data collection to what is useful for the shared counter, your history and service security.

1. Data controller

Tony Landschoot, the non-professional publisher of FAB, determines the purposes of processing specific to the counter. OpenAI also processes certain data to provide authentication and hosting under its own commitments and policies.

2. Data processed

  • Technical ChatGPT account identifier and display name.
  • FAB profile settings: public display mode, optional username and whether contribution location is enabled.
  • Amount, date and identifier of each contribution.
  • If you allow it when contributing: country, approximate city and coordinates rounded to the nearest degree. Your precise position is rounded in your browser before anything is sent and is never retained by FAB. If you decline, you can still contribute and only the approximate country provided by the hosting platform may be recorded.
  • Email address received transiently during authentication but not retained by FAB.
  • Pseudonymous fingerprints derived from the connection and technical counters used to limit spam, without storing the plain IP address.
  • Language preference stored on the device.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Perform the requested service: add, display, rank and allow cancellation of contributions.
  • Display a heatmap and a collective country ranking.
  • Secure the service, prevent fraud and protect counter integrity on the basis of the publisher’s and users’ legitimate interests.
  • Remember the expressly selected language to provide the expected interface.
  • Comply with applicable legal duties and respond to competent authorities.

4. Public data and recipients

Depending on the profile choice, a full name, unique username or “Anonymous” is displayed publicly with contribution amounts, dates and statistics. When location is enabled, the country and approximate city are also public. Rounded coordinates are used only to position aggregate volumes on the map. Non-public technical data is accessible only to the publisher and providers needed to operate the service, including OpenAI and its infrastructure subprocessors.

5. Retention periods

  • Contributions, their display names and approximate locations are kept until the user cancels them or the publisher removes them for a justified reason.
  • Profile settings are kept while the account uses FAB. Disabling location prevents collection for future contributions without changing locations already recorded.
  • The pseudonymous link between a connection and a contribution is removed after the one-hour anti-abuse window.
  • Technical rate-limit counters are normally purged after about 24 hours.
  • The language preference is kept for one year unless the user deletes cookies sooner.

6. Cookies and trackers

FAB uses neither targeted advertising nor audience analytics. A first-party cookie remembers the chosen language. Strictly necessary cookies may be used for authentication, security and technical operation. These purposes are exempt from prior consent when strictly necessary or expressly requested.

Share buttons are simple links: no social network content loads before a click. Once a third-party service opens, its own policy applies.

7. Your rights

You can view your data under “My contributions” and cancel each contribution, removing it from the counter and ranking. You may also request access, correction, erasure, restriction or objection when those rights apply, and complain to the CNIL if an issue remains unresolved.

For any additional request, email tonylandschoot@gmail.com. A response will be provided within the time required by applicable law after reasonable identity verification.

8. Security and transfers

FAB uses server-side validation, volume caps and request limits. No system can, however, guarantee absolute security.

Technical providers may process data outside the European Economic Area using the contractual safeguards described in their policies, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
